This is not a full pattern. THIS IS AN ADD-ON PATTERN ONLY! You will need the Unwind Sweater-Hoodie pattern to sew these options, available here.
The Unwind Pocket Add-on pattern guides you through adding 3 different pocket styles to your Unwind Sweater or Hoodie: a beginner friendly kangaroo pocket or circular pockets; & the more challenging welt pocket.

Whether you are keeping your fingers warm, want somewhere to pop your phone or snacks or just looking for somewhere for your hands to hang out, then you will love the multiple pocket options that you can add to your Unwind Jumper/Sweater/Hoodie.
KANGAROO POCKET - Beginner friendly.
Being an Aussie, how fantastic that I get to combine an Aussie ‘jumper’ with the ultimate Aussie jumper, the Kangaroo. This awesome pocket, commonly called a Kangaroo Pocket, is fast, easy & totally on-trend. Sew into a snuggly warm sweatshirt or a cool, activewear top.
Beginner friendly.
CIRCULAR POCKET - Beginner friendly.
The circular pocket is super fun & perfect for contrasting trims. This option has just one layer topstitched to the inside of the top & features a circular pocket opening along the side seam.
Beginner friendly.
WELT POCKET - Requires experience.
This is a pocket for those with more experience. If you’ve sewn welt pockets before, even better. The welt pocket features a vertical rectangular ‘tab’ pocket opening on the outside & a pocket bag on the inside. This pocket is for the more experience sewist.

I haven’t started this yet but it’s all printed & ready to go. Very comprehensive instructions & lots of lovely photos.
This absolutely completes the Unwind Sweater Hoodie pattern. Fantastic instructions,
I made the circular pockets, which worked extremely well, and very pleased with the look.
The instructions are so good I'm going to make the welt pockets next with a high degree of confidence of a successful outcome.
If you love the Unwind (I mean how could you not?!) then you definitely want to add pockets. This pocket add-on gives 3 different pocket styles that are easy to apply to your Unwind. I found the circular pockets to be my favorite because they could blend in with my fabric. The instructions were easy to read and follow.
What a fun addition to a great pattern! The Unwind is an easy sew and these pocket options take it up a notch. Instructions are well written and easy to follow. You won't regret your purchase.
Such a simple eye-catching addition to my sewing repertoire. I have used the circular pocket on the last 3 Unwind sews. I love how it lifts the front of the top, especially when using reverse coverstitch in either matching or contrast threads, and either matching or contrasting pocket trim.
